Welcome to First Baptist

There is a place
for you here.

Whether you live in the Yampa Valley or are visiting the mountains, we would be glad to worship with you.

We are an independent Baptist church with a simple desire: to glorify God, preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and help people grow in the truth of His Word. Bring your family, bring your questions, and come get to know us.

Get to know our church

Christ at the center

Our hope is in Jesus Christ—His death for our sins, His burial, and His resurrection.

The good news

The Bible as our guide

We preach and teach from the King James Bible, trusting God’s Word to direct our faith and life.

Why the King James Bible?

Life as a church family

We gather to worship, share a meal, encourage one another, and serve our community.

Life at First Baptist

Meet our pastor

Pastor Nyrell
Melvin

Pastor Nyrell’s testimony is a story of God’s grace, a changed life, and a desire to serve Christ. He and his wife, Joy, are raising four children and serving here in Steamboat Springs.

His heart is to preach God’s Word clearly, shepherd the church faithfully, and help people know the Saviour who changed his life.
